Ransomware – What It Is – How to Prevent It

Published on: November 8, 2021

Ransomware can cripple a law firm, business, or even your home computer, in seconds. A ransomware attack is frightening, and almost always costly. This program, taught by techno-ethics attorney Daniel J. Siegel, will explain what ransomware is and how to prevent attacks proactively. Dan will explain the dos and don’ts, and outline best practices that everyone should adopt.

Program Objectives:

  • Explain what ransomware is
  • Outline the policies and best practices to reduce the risk of a ransomware attack
  • Discuss ways to respond to an attack
  • Discuss the legal and ethical risks of making ransomware payments

The program provides one substantive CLE credit for Pennsylvania attorneys.
