It’s Time to Revise the Rules of Professional Conduct to Recognize the Impact of Technology on Lawyers (The Inaugural Episode)

The Model Rules of Professional Conduct, upon which all attorney ethics rules are based, were created in 1983, the same year Microsoft introduced Word, and before many of today’s lawyers were born. In fact, the Model Rules do not mention the word “technology” and only consider the impact of technology in a limited number of comment. In this inaugural version of The Legal Tech Podcast, attorney and techno-ethics guru Daniel J. Siegel argues that it is time for the American Bar Association to revise the Model Rules to recognize and address the significant impact of technology, even moreso since the COVID-19 pandemic.
